Patrol Narrative:
Rmks 1-
Sailed Feb 10, 1945, from guam and went to SJ op-area
Rmks 2-
Had mixed weather all along during the patrol
Not many Air Contacts and not many surface contacts
Decided to engage and eliminate all that came around
Rmks 3.
Encountered 5 separate groups of small boats and had a surface action clearing the grops off the sean, for a total of 27 sampans and fishing boats, some small arms fire came our way. In this actions exausted all the ammo for the 20 MM guns and had only 19 rounds remaining for the main gun
Rmks 4.
From the 24 to the 26 encountered single surface ships, fired a total of 16 torps for kills on them, by this point fuel was down to 50% and crew showed signs of stress.
Rmks 5.
Trials on the aft tubes showed malfunctions to the caps, negating the possibility of the six aft tubes. Therefore with only two fwd torps and almost no ammo remaining returned to Guam.
Rmks 5.
5 March 1415
Ship finishing overhaul, will mount a 40 mm AA gun to deal with the multiple surface small ships encountered.
